Music Style: Versatile - playing across many different genres with roots firmly planted in soul, funk, jazz & disco; with an extensive music collection covering the last sixty years of dance music ranging from rhythm & blues to techno. Wayne Wonder started collecting records back in 1981 and began to play them out in the early nineties in London after being inspired by the many different and exciting movements happening at that time. Whether it was the rare groove and funk revival of the early 80s, the exploding house scene which had recently emerged or the free party / warehouse phenomenon which followed, it all had a major impact.

​With almost 25 years DJ experience, Wayne has played from house party to club to warehouse to beach bar and everything in between. After arriving in Bali in 2001, it didn’t take very long for him to get noticed with his distinctive style. In 2008 Wayne Wonder joined the KU DE TA roster where he remains until now and is one of their longest serving selectors.

​Some of the events, clubs and bars Wayne has played at here in Bali over the last 15 years include the award winning Hip Shaker at F Lounge, Sentosa (including The Yak Awards), Cocoon (including The Yak Awards), Bacios, Liquid, Metis, Shanghai Baby, Finns Beach Club, Karma Kandara, Double Six Rooftop, Hu’u, Moziac, Potato Head, Jenja Foyer, The Beat Mag anniversary parties at Hard Rock Café, Papa’s Café and Ocean Beach Club (OBC), as well as being a favourite choice for weddings as well as private and corporate functions. 

Wayne’s personal highlights include playing warm-up sets for Sir Norman Jay, Louie Vega, LTJ Bukem and taking over from Frankie Knuckles. He was also the supporting DJ for UK soul legendOmar when he performed live in Bali in 2013.
